Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Darnise Martin, an author, spiritual teacher, and semi-retired professor turned creative entrepreneur. For years, I wrote and taught about African American religion, spirituality, and cultural transformation. Today, I’m bringing those same themes to life through story weaving faith, myth, and mystery into fiction that speaks to the soul. I use storytelling to talk about spiritual quests, awakenings and expanded consciousness. You'll find a variety of my books here.
My latest in progress work, The Artifact: Divinity Frequency, Book 1, marks a new chapter in my creative life, a spiritual adventure that blends history, mysticism, and human transformation. It’s a story about awakening, power, and the search for truth both ancient and deeply personal.
I believe stories have the power to heal, to awaken, and to remind us who we really are. My hope is that when you read my work, you feel inspired to listen to your own inner calling the one that’s been waiting patiently for you to say yes.
Welcome to this next chapter with me. Let’s journey together.
10 Radical Lessons For Women On How To Live And Love Without Losing Themselves
What Every Woman In Her 40’s Needs To Know
This book is for every woman in her 40’s who could use some encouragement and validation that she is enough, and that she can bounce back from anything that temporarily knocked her down, shook her confidence, and left her doubting herself. 40 Something is for women who are revisiting themselves.
Darnise Martin shares her intimate experiences of how she dealt with the loss of her mother, the most important person in her life.
Losing our mother can be a complicated experience.
Our mothers are our life line, and when she dies we can be left feeling lost and without any grounding.
African Americans in a New Thought Church (Religion, Race, and Ethnicity)
Beyond Christianity draws on rich ethnographic work in a Religious Science church in Oakland, California, to illuminate the ways a group of African Americans has adapted a religion typically thought of as white to fit their needs and circumstances.
